The process of amelioration means that one is taking a bad situation and channeling energy in order to make the best of it and to find peace with the situation. The music starts off in an ambiguous manner, and it takes the journey of someone coming to terms with a bad situation they have experienced in life. An energetic section with many different meters, representing a jagged path, eventually transforms into a big reprise of the main theme which then settles into a much more stable place.
