for Orchestra
Duration: 10:30-11:00
This tone poem for orchestra is a journey through the woods, but one from a more fantasy-oriented lens. Its various sections contrast with each other and move through a cyclic path or story. It starts and ends with the sun shining through the trees, albeit at opposite ends of the day. The sections are based on a motive introduced at the very beginning, which is the unifying element despite each section being drastically different from the last.
Sunrise peeks out of the trees
Creatures come out to play
Deep woods
An old cottage
Conversations at the fireplace
A threat...
A meadow
